INVOLVEMENT
Five ways that Rock the Lakes can benefit your church…
Your participation and the participation of your congregation in the Rock the Lakes outreach can help your church become stronger in its witness and community impact. Following are five specific ways you and your church enjoy spiritual blessings from being involved:
1. Training in Evangelism and Discipleship
Many committed Christians are either afraid of or simply do not know how to share their faith. The Christian Life and Witness Course (Adults) and FM4:19 Weekend for Teens (Follow Me and I will make you Fishers of Men – Matt. 4:19), will teach members of your congregation how to effectively share their faith and serve as counselors and disciple-makers for Rock the Lakes. This training has long term benefits for ongoing evangelism and discipleship in your church.
2. A Plan of Action for building Relationships
In a spiritual sense Christians are being trained to fish the river by providing a simple, biblical method for them to build relationships and share their faith. This ministry will help your church members work with their relationships to find friends and relatives who need Christ, pray for them, and invite them to the Rock the Lakes event where they will hear the message of salvation. This also provides an on-going relational approach for evangelism in your church beyond Rock the Lakes.
3. Unity
The common cause of reaching the next generation through Rock the Lakes will foster unity among believers. Christ’s commandment to love one another will find expression as members of various churches and denominations come together and find the power of a united witness for Christ. This love and unity will find expression in acts of kindness that will be expressed throughout the community.
4. New Christians in your Church
Jesus’ mandate to disciple the nations is still in effect (Matt.28:19). The Rock the Lakse outreach is designed to channel new believers into your church, so you can encourage them to further spiritual growth. The future of the church lies in reaching and discipling the next generation.
5. Spiritual Renewal
Rock the Lakes will be a refreshing time of renewal. As churches and youth groups come together for training, the emphasis will be on spiritual renewal as well as sharing Jesus. This emphasis will serve as a catalyst for the spiritual growth of your people.
