Welcome to the Rock the South Website!

Thank you for your commitment and concern for the evangelistic effort in Atlanta with Franklin Graham as we have worked for a unified strategy to reach people for Christ in our community and city, and particularly young people. Some have given of their time and other resources for several years and we are especially grateful to you.

The Executive Committee for the Atlanta effort met today and unanimously agreed that while this evangelistic thrust is the right thing to do, April 24, 2010 is not the right time, for a number of reasons, including the current economic climate which has presented significant challenges to the financial strength of this effort.

Consequently, we have decided to cancel the Rock the South-Atlanta event at the Georgia Dome on April 24. However, we had considerable discussion about the future of our city and unanimously expressed a deep commitment to reaching the City of Atlanta for Christ and would encourage you to join us in seeking God's direction for the right time for such a united evangelistic outreach.

The official Rock the South-Atlanta committee has been formally dissolved. We took the step of appointing a new, smaller committee which has agreed to continue looking at potential opportunities to continue the groundwork which has been laid here. I assure you we finished this phase well and we covet your prayers with regard to future developments the Lord may have in store for us.

May the Lord continue to bless and lead you as we soon celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus.
